I'm a data engineer who likes owning the whole path from raw data to something people actually trust and use. For the past few years I've been building a healthcare analytics platform on Azure, with Databricks, Delta Lake, and dbt at the core and Azure DevOps for CI/CD. Day to day that means designing incremental pipelines and writing models that are tested and documented. I work closely with PMs and tech leads to turn loose requirements into maintainable models. Open to Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer roles where the modern data stack and governance both matter.
I came in through systems rather than analytics. An internship in 2018, web work, two years as a system engineer in Kagoshima, then system performance at FPT, then data from late 2022.

I am Shin. By day I work on software. By evening I pour something peaty, write down what I taste, and argue with myself about whether it was worth the money.
This site is deliberately small: flat markdown files, a static site generator, no database and no framework. If a thing can be a file, it is a file.
Most of the writing here is old: iptables rules, Linux memory management, an Arduino attendance reader I built at university. Hardware and networks, not data.
The whisky ledger is the part I actually maintain. Everything else here comes and goes.
